HOW DO I GET TO CAMP?
Prairie Camp is located at 63526 County Road 9, Goshen, Indiana 46526. We are conveniently located just north of Wakarusa and south of Elkhart between county roads 36 and 32.
WHERE IS CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT once i arrive at camp?
Check your confirmation email to see what time check-in/out is for your specific camp. If you need help, contact Michelle@mcncr.org. Once you arrive at camp, enter the main entrance by the Prairie Camp sign off of CR 9. You will park on your left hand side in the grass. Once parked, for check-in you'll head straight to the Children's Tab. Look for the registration flag waving! Our staff will be waiting to greet you. After the check-in process, you're welcome to go with your student's counselor to their cabin to help them get settled.
For check-out, you'll park in the same area and head to the center of camp to our beloved Tabernacle. We will wrap up camp with a short program so that you have a better idea of what your camper experienced this week. From there, you'll head to your student's dorm where their counselor will help you check them out.
Can my highschooler attend both wilderness and teen camp?
Absolutely! We would love to have them. Please note that Wilderness Camp does fill up quickly.
what should my camper bring with them?
A great camp experience starts with being prepared! We will send you a detailed packing list about 1-2 weeks before your camp begins. This list includes a general packing list, dress code guidelines, program specific items to bring (and what to leave at home).
are personal electronic devices allowed?
At Prairie Camp, we value disconnecting from technology. When we disconnect from the noise of this world, we can more effectively reconnect with God. Campers are NOT allowed to have electronic devices while at camp.
how can i contact my camper during the week of camp?
We know it can be difficult to be apart, but we have a very low rate of homesickness among our campers. We often find it's harder on the parents than the camper! You and your family are welcome to write your camper letters that we will deliver each day while they are with us. Camper Mail is located at check-in in the Children's Tab.
If you have an emergency and need to reach your camper, please call the Camp Office at 574-612-2241 to speak with our Camp Director.
What is prairie camp's lice policy?
Campers will be checked for head lice prior to admission. Prairie Camp follows a strict “no nit” policy, which is different from public school guidelines. Campers with lice or nits will be sent home for treatment and may only return after being cleared, to ensure the safety and well-being of all campers and staff.
Returning to Camp: Campers may return 24 hours after treatment provided no nits are found by camp staff.
Personal Items: All clothing, bedding, and personal items must be properly treated before returning.
what happens if registration is full?
We have a waitlist for each of our camps. Families are contacted in the order that they join the waitlist if a spot becomes available. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee a spot, so we encourage families to plan accordingly. You will not be charged when you are on the waitlist.
are scholarships available?
Yes! Please fill out this scholarship application and send to Michelle@mcncr.org to be considered. We'll get back to you quickly regarding our decision. If you attend a church regularly, many churches love to help send students to camp as well!
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Before June 1, all but your deposit is refundable. Your deposit may be transferred to another camper if you would like. After June 1, no refunds will be given.
can my camper room with a friend?
Yes! If your camper would like to room with a friend, you can submit a roommate request during registration. We do our very best to accommodate these requests.
